I. Old Business


A. Blogspot
Hours updated December 11th. If your name isn’t on the roster, you did not pay for membership. Email Elaine at elaine_tam91@yahoo.com if you have questions or concerns regarding your hours.

B. T-Shirts
We have both the old and new t-shirts in all sizes. The new T-shirts are $10 and the old ones are $5. Note: T-Shirts are very helpful during services because it distinguishes you from all the other volunteers. Also, it makes you look special and it makes our key club look good. Buy them now!


II. New Business

A. "Exploring the Great Outdoors" - Rose Float Decorating

It's that time of the year again when we decorate the floats that'll appear at the Rose Parade on New Year's day. again, this service will be held in Pasadena, 700 Seco St.,on December 26th all the way to the 31st. There are two shifts. The first one is From 8 AM - 4 pm and the second from 4 PM - 11 PM

B. District Convention (DCON) 2009
This year's convention is held at the Anaheim Convention Center from April 3rd to 5th. Registration is $152 (not including hotel fees) if paid by February 27th. This may seem a lot but can be done easily by selling around 7 boxes of varied snacks. The theme this year is Bee a Hero! If you plan on going, you can also sign up for a business internship in theatrical staging or photography during your stay in Anaheim.

*Michelle Fong edits* Since a few of you do not know what DCON is, it is basically a 3-day convention that invites all key clubbers from our District (California, Nevada, and Hawaii). This year it is being held in the Hilton Hotel and we will put you in a room with four people. Don't worry it's not random. Throughout the three days there will be dances, workshops, elections, and a loooot of cool stuff (like good food! good food is always a plus. amirite?) One day would be formal, casual, or spirited. I didn't go last year, but whatever Lisa tells me about DCON I'll tell you guys. If you went to RTC, then you would know what is coming up in DCON.

C. Sylmar Victims Fund raiser and Drive
You can donate clothes, everyday necessities, personal hygiene items, and canned foods to the victims of the fire in Sylmar. You can also bring in items that are in good condition and can be sold at a yard sale. They are due at the next DCM on January 3rd, 2009. (You will receive hours for your donations). Max 10 hours.

D. Book Drive
For the fall season, we had the pencil project, for the winter season, we now have a book drive! We will donate these to less fortunate schools to help increase literacy and knowledge. You will get 1/2 an hour per book you donate. They are also due on January 3rd at the DCM. Max 10 hours.

E. Senior Scholarship
Seniors can now apply for a scholarship given by our very own Kiwanis! Get your forms from Lisa OR go to www.cnhkeyclub.org to apply.

F. Southern California Debate League Spring Debate
This event is held on Friday,January 9th and Saturday, January 10th. More info TBA.

G. Kiwanis International Presidential Luncheon
This is a luncheon that's hosted by the Pasadena Kiwanis. It's held at the University Club. 175 North Oakland Avenue, Pasadena, from 12:00 PM - 2:00. Seating is limited, and you MUST wear semi formal clothing.
